What personal data do we collect and why do we collect it:

1. Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data that appears on the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user string to help detect spam. If a contact form is sent, the sending email is collected.

2. Media Files

If you upload images to the site, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Site visitors can download and extract any location data from the images on the site.

Contact forms

 1. Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you can choose to have your name and email address saved in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit the login page, we will set a temporary cookie to see if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie does not contain any personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also create several cookies to store your login information and your screen display options. Login cookies last for two days and display options cookies last for one year. If you select “Remember me”, your login will remain for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or post an article, an additional cookie will be stored in your browser. This cookie does not include any personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

2. Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this website may contain embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if the visitor had visited the other website.

Those sites may collect data about you, use cookies, incorporate additional third-party tracking, and track your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that site.

Data Analysis

1. With whom do we share your data?

The data collected is used for data analysis and malicious attack prevention purposes. This data contains vague information about the proper functioning of the site.

2. How long we keep your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are kept indefinitely. This is so that we can automatically identify and approve any subsequent comments instead of keeping them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on our site (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can view, edit or delete their personal information at any time (except that they cannot change their username). Site administrators can also view and edit this information.

3. What rights do you have over your data

If you have an account on this website or have left comments, you can request to receive an extracted record of the personal data we hold about you, including the data you have provided to us. You can also request that we delete any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are required to retain for administrative, legal or security purposes.

4. Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
